Since 2000 more than 164 people have died in fires at colleges and universities. Four out of five of those occur in off-campus housing. The Alarming Truth is a short film produced as part of a national campaign to raise awareness about fire safety among college students. Funded under a Department of Homeland Security Fire Prevention and Safety grant, the film depicts a fire at an off-campus residence, and the unfortunate outcome that affects all those involved.
